Colourful orchards, sandy beaches and vibrant towns provide a stunning backdrop to our journey around Cuba, but it is the rare opportunity to learn about and enjoy this intriguing country that attracts people to this tour. The striking friendliness of the people of Cuba helps us to see first-hand how fair trade works in a unique political setting.

We visit citrus farmers in Ciego de Avila and see how Fairtrade premiums benefit the local co-operatives. With 2009 being the 50th anniversary of the revolution, there is no better time to visit. Visits to sites commemorating the revolution give an insight into Cuba's complex social history and there'll be plenty of opportunity to enjoy Cuba's lively artistic and musical scene.
