Kenya is a truly beautiful country. This tour combines unique wildlife and stunning scenery with visits to fair trade tea and crafts producers, a range of other development projects and a cultural insight into a few of the 42 ethnic community groups of Kenya. Named after Mount Kenya, it has a population of 30 million and is the economic centre of East Africa.

Starting in the hustle and bustle of Nairobi we visit Traidcraft Exchange's office and then head north to see some of their projects and to meet some Fairtrade tea growers in Muranga. On our way south we stop at Nakuru with its' flamingos and rhinos before heading down into the Rift Valley and on to the vast plains of the Maasai Mara for some spectacular animal sightings! Our trip ends on the east coast of Kenya on the palm fringed beaches of Mombasa and with the craft workers of Traidcraft's partner, Bombolulu.

Based in Mombasa, Bombolulu Workshops for the handicapped was founded in 1969 as a rehabilitation centre. The project has grown over the years and now operates four sheltered workshops. Bombolulu assists in developing the skills and abilities of its workforce and it is now one of the biggest rehabilitation centres in Kenya.
