Malawi is a little known gem in the heart of Africa, a small country of diverse beauty, friendly scenery and amazing wildlife. We visit basket-makers and smallholder sugar producers in and around the town of Blantyre before spending a few days relaxing in Liwonde National Park and visiting Lake Malawi. Our tour draws to a close in Zambia based in the edge of the amazing South Luangwa National Park, which has the largest concentration of wild game in the world. Before leaving Zambia we visit Tribal Textiles, another of Traidcraft's suppliers and in Chapata we visit a joint project between Harvest Help and Traidcraft Exchange.

Our partners in Malawi, Wilderness Safaris started operating in 1983 and is dedicated to offering holistic, low impact safaris that nurture environment, guest, staff and community in equal measure. The company has a core philosophy that tourism’s long term growth and success in Africa is dependent on empowering local communities and assisting them to become the custodians of their own destiny and unique natural and cultural heritage.
