Thailand Weaving Tour

Thailand Weaving Tour Main Image
Map Image 1 Image 2 Image 3
Inspired by the success of our basket-making tour in India, Traidcraft and our Thai partners offer you the opportunity to learn the arts of weaving and dying from the artisans themselves. You’ll be immersed in village life, staying in the home of a weaver from the Prae Pan cooperative, and developing your own weaving style in a series of workshops led by your skilled hosts. Following your time in the village, the group will head for the mountainous north-east of the country to spend some time enjoying the beauty of the national park before returning to Bangkok where we can relax or visit the Royal Court.

Our in-country partner is Phu Phiang. Started and run by Rosalind Salmon, Phu Phiang organises journeys through Thailand that visit artisans of fair trade crafts in their villages. Rosalind and her parents, Stephen and Sudawee, have been involved in fair trade for many years through the ThaiCraft Association which works with nearly 100 craft communities around the country. A Traidcraft guest praised the family who guide our Thailand trips: ‘Stephen, Suwadee and Rosalind – what a team! Your experience, commitment to fair trade and knowledge and love of your country make you excellent hosts and guides.’
